2004-2006 Miss FAASDNC



Veronica Janel Elegado was born in San Diego, February 3,1985. She has lived in San Diego her whole life, but recently moved to San Francisco in August of 2003 for college. Veronica is Eric and Charmagne Elegado's only daughter, also the eldest of three brothers, Leo, EJ, and Julian.

Veronica previously attended Rancho Bernardo High School (RBHS), where she was a very involved student. Not only did Veronica succeed in being a part of RBHS Honor Roll, but participated in clubs, sports, and school events. School clubs she was an active member of were Key Club, Link Crew, Mabuhay, and Hip Hop club. She preformed as a member of Newsies, RBHS Airbands 2003, and also a volunteer performer, dancing Tahitian and Hula, for the RBHS Multi-cultural Fair every year of high school. Lastly she was an athlete of RBHS' impressive basketball teams freshman, junior varsity and varsity.

Outside of school Veronica also has many extra curricular activities. Although her love for her family is undeniable, God is first in her life. Her favorite Bible verse that Veronica lives by is “with God all things are possible,” Matthew 19:26. She enjoys going to church with family, reading the Bible and testifying to her friends how God continually blesses her life. Her most passionate pastime is Polynesian dancing. She has been an awesome dancer for almost seven years with the award winning, self produced Polynesian dance group, Halau O' Na Ali'i, lead by Donna and Jeff Merghart. As basketball being her second passion, not only has she made each level of her school basketball teams, sixth grade through varsity in high school, but has played basketball with the Rancho Bernardo Elite Basketball Club. Last summer she decided to give back to the young and aspiring basketball athletes, and volunteered to coach fifth and six graders at the Mira Mesa Recreational Center. Among other things, Veronica has a fond hobby of black and white photography, jet skiing, skiing, competing with her younger brothers and cousins in front-yard basketball tournaments, loves laughing with her friends, eating with her Uncles, having deep conversations with her Aunties, and spending valuable time with her Parents and Grandparents.

Currently Veronica attends San Francisco State University (SFSU), majoring in Speech and Communication, with a concentration in Interpersonal and Intercultural Communication.

Nicole Marie Espina was born on March 30, 1988 in San Diego, CA to Rosalie Espina-Patricio and Mark Ravancho. She lives in Escondido, CA with her mom, stepdad Rod, sister Jaidyn (4 years old), and brother Andrew (2 years old). As a junior at Escondido High School, Nicole participates in the Asian Club, the Fashion Club, and the Interact Club as the Reading Role Model. She is also a member of the school's Link Crew, which is the welcoming committee for ninth graders ad new students. Her after school activities include being an active member of the Youth & Government Program at the Palomar YMCA. This past February, she participated in the 57th Annual Model State Government in Sacramento, CA.

In her spare time, Nicole enjoys shopping at the mall or going to the movie theaters with her friends, talking on the phone or chatting on the computer. Other hobbies include designing web pages and scrapbooking. During the summer, she also volunteers at the local YMCA. Currently driven by self-expression, she hopes to pursue a career in journalism. Nicole believes that the faith and support of family and friends are what drives her to the best she can be.

Ashley Nicole Hansen was born on October 21, 1993 at the Mary Birch Hospital in San Diego, California. Ashley is in the 5th Grade at Sundance Elementary School in Rancho Penasquitos. In September, she will be attending Mesa Verde Middle School in Rancho Penasquitos.

Ashley's hobbies include snowboarding and singing. She also likes to listen to all types of music except country music. Ashley is also an outstanding athlete. She plays basketball, softball, soccer, kickball, gymnastics and Kung Fu.

Ashley is the daughter of Ann Marie Al and the only granddaughter of the late Robert Al and Juliet Al.
